The DDB-VR4131 is a member of the North American RockHopper development system family. The SG-30131-2 and the SG-MOTHER-2 pair is the Solution Gear II development system for VR4131. Please note that in Japan and Asia, Solution Gear II is marketed instead of RockHopper which is software compatible with and similar to RockHopper. RockHopper systems are modular, with a common baseboard where the separate CPU card connects via an edge connector to the PC board interface. The baseboard has PCI slots for cards and many standard peripheral interfaces. This is a highly efficient and flexible development environment featuring the capabilities of NEC's latest VR Series MIPS. embedded processors. RockHopper development systems are designed for evaluation of NEC processor and companion chip capabilities and for use as a reference design. The systems also support the full cycle of development and testing for peripheral hardware, device driver, and softwareapplications. The VR4131 processor is an ultra low power consuming (220mW Max.), 340Mips at 200MHz, extended temperature range, integrated device that includes PCI and memory controller and a variety of other peripherals.
