The MPC5200 is the follow on processor to the MGT5100 processor, and is the corner stone for Motorola's efforts in the automotive telematics/infotainment market and industrial markets. Through extensive experience with the Freescale Mobile GT effort, Freescale's MGT5100 successor, the MPC5200 now runs at 400MHz and has on-chip hardware support for a full complement the most requested features for industrial and automotive: USB, Ethernet, 6 serial controllers, CAN, PCI bus, I2C, I2S, ATA, and J1850. The MPC5200 is very well suited for many industrial control applications such as robotics, instrumentation, and medical equipment. The processor can withstand extended temperature ranges that are typical of many automotive and industrial applications. Motorola's home page for the MPC5200 is located at the following location: http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=MPC5200 and includes documentation, data sheets, and application notes for the MPC5200 and evaluation board.
